Art Critique

I see a man on a bed all bloody with a gun in his hand. I see a random picture on the wall above the bed and also a nightstand. There are mainly neutral colors but the red really pops out. There are some organic and geometrical shapes and the lines are straight and curved. It is mainly low value. This painting represents a suicide and it kind of freaks me out on the real. Why would anyone paint this?! I think the artist was trying to show us what suicide looks like and its never worth it. I would never hang this in my house because i think it would scare off all my friends and everybody!

A melodrama is a drama that consists of exaggerated emotions and stereotypical characters. It is very unrealistic events. Some situations that are normally found in melodramas are soap operas. (Chandler Thompson)

SPRING BREAK 2K11 OBKY ya hurrrrr?!?!?

Over Spring Break I did not go anywhere. I did however do something every single night/day. The first night, Thursday night, I went to Bdubbs with Marisa, Meera, Kelsey, Lindsey, Dutch, Jonah, Zach O., and Jacob. We walked to Wal-mart and got kicked out because Dutch is a "racecar driver" and likes to get pushed in the carts. The next night, I went running with Emma and then me and her went to Jacob's with Harper and watched a movie. Saturday, we went to Ryan Morales's and watched the UK game there with Dutch, Josh, Ryan, Carlton, Jonah, Hadley, and Emma. Sunday Harper and I went for a 3 hour walk and then he came over. Emma and Martha come over and we decide to go tee-pee ...so we go pick up Tyler Embry and it was fun! Monday night, I had some people over for a movie night and it was a lot of fun! Tuesday afternoon, me, Emma, Ryan, Jonah, Hadley, Jacob, and Laura went to English Park and layed out by the Ohio River and we looked really cool. Wednesday night, Jacob, me, Emma, and Harper had another movie night. Thursday night I had a campout with Emma, Madison, and Hadley but it was interrupted by Jacob, Brendan, Henry, Harper, Copeland, and Beau! Friday, I hung out with my friend Jacob Libs and we went to Coldstone, then rode the Rockaplane at the carnival then we went to Wal-mart and bought a Sunkist and a red bouncy ball which we named Melvyn. Saturday afternoon Emma Mcfarland calls me and says look out your window so I do and I see a freaking Phillipino(Ryan) standing out of Emma's sunroof with a sign saying PARTY? and him yelling my name. I tell them to go away then five minutes later I see Zac, Philip, Jonah, Aaron, Austin, and Ryan all in my front yard with techincolor booty shorts with no shirts on party boying telling me to come out so I do. We go to English Park and do nothing at all. Saturday night I had a hot date with Harper and we went to Applebee's and then the carnival for a funnel cake thenwe went to his house. Yesterday I rode around with Emma again.

art critique!!!!!!!!

1st piece:
I see a very dramatic piece! I mean the man-monster is eating a baby!
 The colors are extrememly dark. His eyes make him look crazy and the red blood is what stands out for me. The piece is mostly organic and there is a lot of negative space.
The message I get from this artwork is people can be crazy!
I would definitely hang this piece up in my room or even in my foyer because it is awesome! It would creep people out and it is a conversation starter.
2nd piece:
I see a man with a funny looking turban dead in the tub with a pen and book in his hands.
There are a lot of lighter values in this piece and it has a lot of organic shapes and straight amd curvy lines.
The message I get is that no matter what you are doing you can die wherever!
I would not hang this piece up in  my house because it's not that gory or dramatic so its not my style.
I think the first piece is Romanticism because it is a lot more dramtic and has a ton of emotion in it. It makes you think more and the style is more Middle East. The seond piece is Neoclassicism because this face is a lot more calmer and the colors are bright but not vibrant. The style is a lot more Roman too.

Why did Wolfy die?

We would all like to believe that Salieri was the one who killed Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. That would be a much more interesting story for everyone! However, the facts show that he died of a disease known as rheumatic fever which is an acute disease occurring during recovery from infection with a strain of streptococcus bacteria. He died at 1:00 am on December 5, 1791. it is kind of upsetting to find out that he didn't get murder because that would make Salieri more cool and crazy but instead Salieri just attempted to sabotage Mozart's career throughout his life and he wasted 35 years living in Mozart's shadow which made him very bitter.

Modern Era of Art

Modern era means the present or recent times. In 1913, there was a big riot all because of Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring there is an emphasis on different rhythms. Just by this act you can tell that people were really bipolar and the littlest thing would set them off! People think it happened times but nobody really knows when it was.  People started to change up the techniques of art and make it more up-to-date. The modern era started in 1900. It came to an end in 1945.

Self-portrait

I was thinking while I was making this portrait theat I really should have listened to Ms.Hayden at the 5-6 Center becasue I remember talking about how to do portraits and that really would have come in handy. My reaction to my final product was dang I'm fine. I think some poeple work really hard then don't show their work to anyone becasue they are embarassed and afraid that somebody might hate it even though they love it. Obviously they aren's outgoing and are very shy otherwise they would let people see it!

California Gurls

describe- I see a lot of bright colors! The colors were red, green, blue, yellow, and pink.
analyze- The art elements that pop out are color and shapes! There are so many organic shapes.
interpret- I feel like it looks like a cotton candy cloud and I just want to sleep on it! I think the artist wanted me to make me feel happy. She definitely succeeded in this.
judge- I would definitely put this in my bedroom because it reminds me of having a goood dream!

Extended Weekend

The arts didn't affect me much over the long weekend. One situation it did was a t Marisa Derenzo's suprise birthday party! There was a tonnnnn of music and we danced like maniacs and it was really fun! I alos dominated in karaoke and sang many songs like Love Story, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I'm Yours, Super Freak and many other classics. I also had a movie night at Jocarol's and we watched Hannah Monatan the movie so that counts as art because she sings a lot in it. An interesting story from my vacation would have to be spendning the night at Abby's after Marisa's party! Me and Madison Stuart were playing Just Dance on the Wii and I was doing this fake upper cut move in one song and Abby's 4 year old brother Terrance just started walkin by me and I uppercut him right in the dome! It was a really hard punch too but he acted like it didn't even happen! He didn't even look my way! It was hilarious but I felt awful!

About Prezis...

A prezi is a site where you can make a presentation using the same area instead of using a ton of differemt slides. It is different from power point because with powerpoint you have a lot of different slides and in prezi you have one big one! Three tips for a first-time user are: Be sure to zoom in good enough to see the words, make sure you number the words in order of the way you want your informatioin too be seen, and make sure you watch all of the tutorials so you know what you're doing!

Think fast

One time me, Kaley , and Hadley went out to eat to Texas Roadhouse over the break. After we left, we didn't want to go home so my mom suggested we go car painting. My mom is so cool! We had to think fast because we were awful at being quiet and we couldn't stop laughing so we had to be ready to run at any moment! We were writing on Brandond's car and Brown's mom came out! We just stood there frozen for a while then we started on a dead sprint! We ran as fast as we could back to the get away vehicle! My mom asked if we got caught and we said no just drive! So she did and it was a close call. It was so fun though. Needless to say I definitely don't respond well under pressure. I don't adapt that well to certain circumstances either.

My favorite experience over Christmas Break

My favorite experience over the break was my Christmas party! The theme was tacky Christmas sweaters. It was funny. We went Christmas caroling for .2 seconds and went to Jacob Zuerner's house to invite him down to the party.We played dirty santa and I got some cool glasses! The frames light up and its like a strobe light in your glasses! We also danced....a lot! After the guys left, we had a slumber party. We watched the Hills Have Eyes and it was a dumb movie. After that we just sat and talked. We also played truth or dare. It was a very interesting truth or dare*cough* Kaley. We eventually passed out at 4 and woke up at like 9! I was so mad everybody was awake that early and after they left I went straight back to sleep! All in all, it was a fun night:)
